On the 6th of April 2018 our team of dedicated volunteers was pleased to attend a conference hosted by Advice on Individual Rights in Europe (AIRE) Centre. The project was funded by the Equality and Human Rights Commission and focused on the topic of providing a legal advice to EEA nationals.
It was a long and productive day for everyone. A diverse group of speakers presented significant issues that could potentially arise over the course of Brexit: for example, matters such as homelessness, immigration, detention and deportation, EU nationals’ children rights, and access to welfare. The key message of the event: it is crucial for EU nationals wishing to continue living in the UK to be able to prove their employment in this country. Literally, keeping your proof of legal employment, kinship and country of origin in neat order will save you the hassle.
