We're recruiting an Operations Assistant (Parental Leave Cover)

By Kasia Figiel - 13 March 2023

The Work Rights Centre is looking for an Operations Assistant (12 months FTC) to join our ambitious and fast-growing team. We are a charity set up by migrants to help migrants and disadvantaged Britons. Every day our multilingual team of advisers support beneficiaries to stand up to unscrupulous employers, apply for jobs, access benefits when they're struggling, and secure their immigration status.

We're looking for another colleague to join our passionate frontline team. This is an ideal position for a candidate who is looking to build a career in the advice sector, and who values the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable migrants. You'll have a chance to learn from our experienced team in a friendly and supportive environment.

The Role

The work of an Operations Assistant revolves around two key responsibilities. First, you will have a real chance to make an impact on people's lives by managing the front-facing process of triaging initial enquiries and coordinating outreach, thereby increasing the efficiency and capacity of our Service Provision team. You will also support the smooth running of the organisation by assisting senior colleagues with administrative support, including the delivery of specific projects.

About you

We're looking for a caring and confident colleague who shares our commitment to providing excellent advice to communities of migrant workers. Key criteria include:

  • Enthusiastic and proactive, motivated by a strong sense of justice.
  • Confident and resourceful, you enjoy client work and are keen to learn.
  • At least 1 years' experience in working with vulnerable adults in a client facing capacity.
  • Experience providing advice, setting clear client expectations, and monitoring outcomes.
  • Some experience in project delivery or providing administrative support.
  • You have a real commitment to the aims and values of the Work Rights Centre.
  • Knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.
