  • Contract length: permanent
  • Hours: full time 37.5h/week
  • Location: London hybrid (with possibility of remote only for an exceptional candidate)

The Work Rights Centre is looking for an Immigration Adviser or Solicitor to join our ambitious and fast-growing team. We are a charity set up by migrants and for migrants, and as one of few organisations with Ukrainian and Russian speaking staff, we are at the forefront of the UK’s response to the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

We’re looking for an expert colleague to lead this important immigration work with grit and grace. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a strong sense of justice and experience in providing immigration advice, who values impact, teamwork, and the autonomy of working in a small and agile team.

The Role

As Immigration Adviser / Solicitor, you’ll lead our immigration casework by working closely with our team of advisers, and contribute to our strategic policy influencing agenda in collaboration with senior management. This is an opportunity to help vulnerable migrants to escape conflict and secure their status in the UK, but also to use frontline intelligence to formulate an ambitious policy agenda, pushing for change at systemic level.

About you

We’re looking for a confident colleague who shares our commitment to providing excellent immigration advice, and policy recommendations inspired by practice. Key criteria include:

  • Enthusiastic and proactive, motivated by a strong sense of justice.
  • Confident and resourceful, able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent knowledge of asylum and refugee law.
  • Experience of working in a team, delegating and supervising as needed.
  • Qualified immigration solicitor or adviser accredited at OISC Level 2 or above.

How to apply

Download the full job description and person specifications. Please send your CV and Cover Letter to recruitment@workrightscentre.org  by midnight on Sunday, 29th of October. Successful candidates will be notified shortly after the deadline, and invited to complete a short email task mirroring a client inquiry. We seek to appoint a candidate as soon as reasonably possible, and are prepared to accommodate hybrid working to ease their transition into the post.
