Luke Piper joins the Work Rights Centre as Head of Immigration

By Evie Breese - 14 December 2023

We are pleased to share that the Work Rights Centre has appointed Luke Piper as Head of Immigration to help take on the growing challenges facing migrants in the UK.

The past few years have seen seismic changes to UK immigration law. As the eligibility requirements and conditions to obtain a visa for the UK are tightened, providing good, in-depth, and accessible immigration advice is more important than ever.

Luke is a solicitor with over a decade's experience in UK immigration and asylum law. He has supported many people with immigration applications and legal challenges against the Home Office. He has helped people to stay with their families, access their right to work, challenge deportation, contest detention and access the status they are entitled to. As Head of Policy at the3million, Luke spearheaded strategies that improved the rights and lives of millions of EU citizens and their family members living in the UK.

With Luke on board, we look forward to supporting clients with more complex cases to access justice through the legal system, holding institutions to account through strategic litigation and policy influencing.

Luke will formally join the team in January 2024. To refer a client in need of immigration legal support, fill in this form. We will prioritise clients who have, or are at risk of, a precarious immigration status, but cannot support with asylum applications.
